Why Chiropractic?

There are many different reasons to see a Chiropractor, from mild to severe acute or chronic back pain, headaches and migraines, sinus issues, nerve pain or pins and needles, to gastric or digestive problems, or breathing conditions and allergies.

Chiropractors look to your spine for any kind of mis-alignment (or subluxation) that could be causing your symptoms. A subluxation is a strain or sprain in one or more joints of your spine, resulting in inflammation in that area, due to nerve pressure created and often refers pain or creates symptoms elsewhere in the body.

Subluxations can occur for a multitude of reason; a fall, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, incorrect posture, poor sleeping or sitting habits, improper or heavy lifting, and even emotional stress. Often times an injury has occurred weeks, months or even year prior to the onset of pain or other symptoms.

Subluxations can present as many different symptoms, including;

  • lower back pain
  • neck pain
  • headaches and/or migraines
  • sciatica
  • pins and needles in the arms, hands, legs, and/or feet
  • symptoms of carpel tunnel
  • chest and/or rib pain
  • face pain
  • restless leg syndrome
  • shoulder pain
  • knee pain
  • and many more

Once a subluxation has been detected the Chiropractor can then correct this mis-alignment, this is called an adjustment. The technique and style of an adjustment used will vary between clinics and Chiropractors.
